    I’ve managed to get Jot working fine for users to leave comments on my website. However I cannot get the badwords list to work. Messages that contain badwords that I have listed do not get rejected.

    My jot call is as follows;
    [[Jot? &subscribe=`1` &captcha=`2` &badwords=`{{badwords}}` &bw=`2` &cssRowAlt=`jot` &notify=`2` &pagination=`0`]]

    And my badwords chunk is as follows (I’ve ommited the worst swear words, but I have listed enough so that you can tell if my syntax is okay)
    adobe,href=,[URL,img,<script>,<script,script

      Have you tried logging out of the manager (and of a public web group, if you logged in that way) before posting? I believe that if you’re logged in as an administrator or jot moderator you’re trusted to post whatever you like, so the bad words list isn’t applied.

        Yes. I loaded the website on a different machine and entered the message as a guest, and it still allowed the message through.

          Simon, did you find a solution to this? I’m experiencing the same problem.

            I had the same problem. I got around it by just adding the badwords into the snippet call as opposed to a separate chunk.

            Not ideal, but it works. It would still be nice to find out why the bad words chunk wasn’t working though.

              To me that sounds as if there was something about your chunk format that it didn’t like. Could be a bug that only shows up in your context, but I can’t reproduce it. I’m using Jot 1.0 on MODx 0.9.6, and my bad words chunk works with the words separated by commas (with no spaces).

                OK, so it’s been a while since this thread was active, but I’m now experiencing the same problem as Simon and highlander with Jot 1.1.2. And I found that adding my bad words directly to the snippet call (which is itself a chunk) also resolved it. So I think that perhaps the order in which chunks and snippets are parsed and whether those snippets and/or the page is cached can cause this to work or not, and varying those factors may make a difference.

                  I think ZAP is right ... the exact same thing happened to me as well.
