      Hi bS,

      I also encountered spam attack same with your demo. Please check your demo now. http://projects.zerobarrier.nl/modx/
      Any solutions for this?

      I suggest that much better if we can setup a demo with a captcha support enable.

      Regards,

        When posting a comment, and including a link within that comment using HTML format thus:

        <a href="...">text</a>

        It is not being rendered as a link, but like above.

        I’ve searched and looked through wiki thinking there was a placeholder but nothing.

        SO obviously, my question must be, is there something I’m missing?

        Many thanks

          I guess it must be one of those dumb-funk newbie questions which I should know better, innit!

          Suitably embarrassed, if that’s the case. laugh

          I am however, willing to bare that burden on behalf of others that may follow - Ya hear that newbies?! I’m standing here naked, so you don’t have to - Understand dat!

          So... if someone can humour me, that’d be just great, cheers laugh

            The comment content comes from this placeholder in the "chunk.comment.inc.html" jot template:

            [+comment.content:wordwrap:esc:nl2br+]

            That "esc" phx modifier modifies the content so that all html code is escaped and outputted as string. So if you take that "esc" out from the placeholder modifiers, you can insert what ever html you want to the comment content. But that wouldn’t be very good idea if the comment form is some public form.

            It would be better to do an own custom modifier that modifies the output by stripping out some tags, while leaving others untouch. Eg. do a snippet with name "phx:myesc" with this content:

            <?php
            return strip_tags($output, "<a>");
            ?>

            And replace the "esc" in Jot comment content placeholder with myesc, like so:

            [+comment.content:wordwrap:myesc:nl2br+]

                Hi,

                Can Jot be used to pass small amounts of data from a form to a spreadsheet application? The active spreadsheet can call on data from webpages, but I need visitors to be able to enter their own values, and submit this to the app. It would then return a table based upon their inputted values. I need this to work for guests, so I cannot use a function that relies upon a user ID. Any ideas? Your replies cannot be too patronsing! wink

                Thanks.

                  No worries,

                  I’ve found what I need - I think I have, anyway. I just use form and GET or POST (I have still to fully work that out). I think I can make it work.

                  Modx is way over my head really, but even I can see that it offers huge potential for making truly individual and interactive websites. I can’t wait for it to be fully developed and then maybe there will be some more tutorials, walk-throughs, and pluggins for people like me.

                    Hey Colin.... you should try out eForm for your form to spreadsheet utility... unless you also need it to create a comments board like Jot (why recreate the comment functionality eh?). eForm is better suited to general form to DB, especially if you add in the eForm2DB extra snippet (search for both here and you’ll find plenty of discussions).
