    I’ve been looking quite a little for a way to display the amount of Jot comments on a list generated by Ditto, in order to get a display that is somewhat similiar to blog software, which can encourage users to actually post (more) comments wink.

    So far I’ve only came across one site that does it, which is Scotty Delicious’ site, but, as far as I can understand of the output that is giving, he isn’t using Jot but Replix, one of Jot’s older brothers.

    I haven’t been able to find much about it through the search, so my question still stands; is this possible (without modding the sense out of MODx) and if so, how?

      Yes this is possible there’s even a special action in Jot for this implementation:
      [!Jot?&docid=`[+id+]`&action=`count-comments`!]

      example ditto template:

      <div class="nl_summaryPost">
        <h3><a href="[~[+id+]~]" title="[+title+]">[+title+]</a></h3>
        <div class="nl_info" >By <strong>[+author+]</strong> on [+date+]. Comments
        ([!Jot?&docid=`[+id+]`&action=`count-comments`!])</div>
        [+summary+]
        <p class="nl_link">[+link+]</p>
      </div>

        [..]
        Thanks a lot, I guess I overlooked that one, sadly I’m facing yet another problem now, the output given is simply "[!Jot?&docid=`61`&action=`count-comments`!] comments", the 61 is variable (which is ok), but the Jot snippit isn’t parsed, what could I be doing wrong now? I’m calling Ditto uncached but I couldn’t find any settings in the documentation that could be causing this.

          then call Jot cached.. this is a known "issue" in MODx ..

          btw: i’ll be releasing PHx 2.0 beta tonight which will fix that for MODx.
