Having just come across ModX I wondered if I could use it to replace my current project site http://www.kuckoo.co.uk I have incorporated Coppermine photo gallery, some html pages and a bit of Flash. I have read a bit about Chunks and Snippets, Plugins and Templates and I am wondering why no one that I can find has built in a substantial photo gallery. I am looking for a home for a Blog / Gallery and wondered if ModX could wrap it all up nice and cosy allowing me to work on the content. I would just like to know if it’s not really practical, otherwise I’ll have a go.
    Thanks

I think both would be relatively straightforward to do. We’ve got a blog on the main marketing site and we have a couple of gallery solutions out or that will be out soon.

        reyn,

If you come up with a solution to incorporate Coppermine into MODx, I’d be interested in it. I too have a site that uses a Coppermine photo gallery and I’ve not figured out how to incorporate it.

There are several good gallery options with MODx. I am a big fan of incorporating some jQuery flourish with MaxiGallery. You can add all kinds of custom CSS to the MaxiGallery window. The MaxiGallery upload system is nice with MODx.

Coppermine is OK I guess. I just find it has this utilitarian Unix/developer "look" to it. It sort of shows its age these days...
