I am working on a site www.inbouwdak.nl that needs to be a startpage for people that look for sunroofs
I have alist of dealers and for each dealer there will be a homepage conected.
now i want this list to be more interactive that people can sort the list on name ore city to start with.
but also a search function that people can type ther state (province) and get a list of dealers in that state.
I know I can create lots of pages to do that but would be better to have some kind of snippet that connects with a database en give me the results for my search.
I love to use Mod-X (it Rulz), but would it be a wise choice (and if not what to use)
If somone has exirience making a site like this (lots of links sorted) or have a idea to get this to work, that would be great.

I think you could created a little addition to do this without having to created a seperate page. Then again, if each dealer is going t have a site, those site pages could be used to build the link list...

I had a similar situation, a database of translation terms, in four languages. I set it up so that only certain (web) users could see the terms for certain items, plus they can sort by any of the language fields. It required a page with a form across the top, at the top of each column was a "submit" button, and the php file the form called would query the database with a SORT BY depending on which button the user clicked. Your situation would be easier. Make weblink documents, and modify a regular menu snippet to sort the query by the user’s choice (links = $_GET[’sortby’], form buttons = $_POST[’sortby’]). Or you could get fancy and sort the list in the browser with Javascript!
