Displaying the [*#content*] from another page on the Home page

I’m trying to display a summary of the info on the "About" page on the home page.

Example:

This would be in the [*#content] of the About page which is [~19~]

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Maecenas turpis diam, iaculis ac pretium ut, accumsan eleifend enim. Integer ullamcorper condimentum laoreet. Cras tristique, dui vel tincidunt viverra, augue leo lacinia urna, sed dapibus massa nunc a diam. Proin sollicitudin arcu malesuada enim blandit cursus. Nam accumsan magna eget ligula ornare vulputate. Nam massa justo, accumsan et imperdiet at, venenatis in erat. In hendrerit metus ac neque bibendum nec egestas nunc adipiscing. Vestibulum tempus luctus adipiscing. Nam eu odio ac sem aliquet porta non non neque. Ut vel dignissim elit. Sed aliquet consequat tortor a iaculis. In at purus orci, ac aliquet erat. Suspendisse eu ipsum magna.

How do I take this and display something like this on the main page [~1~]

I suppose getField snippet would work.

thx ill take a look at this.. is t his somethin ditto cant do on its own?

I suppose yes it can.
But Ditto is too heavy for your need.

with the snippet would i be able to limit the amount of characters or would it display everything in the [*#content*]?

Have you checked out Ditto’s summary extender?

I tried [+summary+] and [+content+].. content works but i cant limit the amount of words.. summary doesnt display anything at all

Ditto Call:

[!Ditto? &documents=`19` &tpl=`aboutSum`!]

aboutSum:

<p>[+summary+]</p>

I dont remember which trunc options I had.. but I read it could only be used with [+summary+] but i cant get that to work at all

You need to tell Ditto to use the Summary extender in order for the [+summary+] placeholder to be set:

[!Ditto? &documents=`19` &tpl=`aboutSum` &extenders=`summary` &truncLen=`140` !]

This works! but i tried changing the &truncLen to 504 which is the correct number and it doesnt change the length of the text thats displayed.. is there anythin i need?
