(SOLVED) placeholders nested in two ditto calls

    I’m having some issues trying to use 
    [+summary+]
    inside of a ditto template that is being called from yet another ditto call. Do placeholders change if you nest ditto calls?

      Shouldn’t it be [+introtext+] ?

        well this is where i’m confused. I thought summary would pull from introtext and if that wasn’t populate then it’d pull from content. I want to only show about 150 characters worth of the content. Ideally I’d like to NOT have to populate introtext manually.

        I think I was having a caching issue. Once I added the extenders parameter things seem to be working.

        here’s my ditto call

         [!Ditto? &parents=`12` &tpl=`articleTpl` &tagData=`chkBlogCategory` &tagDelimiter=`,` &tagMode=`onlyTags` &tags=`words` &sortBy=`pub_date DESC` &noResults=`` &truncLen=`450` &extenders=`summary` !]

          &sortBy=`pub_date DESC`

          I think this might be ...
          &orderBy=`pub_date DESC`
