dynamic tagging like xing?

Hi,

I need tagging with ditto 2.1 and found the tagging extender.

But I don’t like to extend a TV every time I’d like to add a tag or to use meta keywords for that (the list is already too long)

Is there any way to integrate new tags more dynamically, i.e. like in xing.com (I think it is made with ajax there)?

I would like to have a list (static or live ajax search) and a field "add new tag" or s.th. similar. It hasn’t to be this way exactly, but maybe you’ve ditto experts now have a clue what I’m thinking about.

Do you know of any ways how to achieve this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

hm, so that doesn’t seem to be possible yet ;-)

I could live with something like a checkbox list for choosing from existing tags and a field to add a new one, which should be added at the same time to the article as the ones I choose from the list - could that be done?

I don’t care for writing the articles from within the manager or outside from a form script, like NewsPublisher.

Maybe it would be possible to store the data in a text file (@eval, @file?) to built the list from, and the "add new tag field" would extend the text file? How could that be done?

thanks, looks interesting, I already started playing with TaggoNG. I’ve to get used to putting documents in certain categories to get the tags right, but it looks like I could handle it.

Not the approach I was thinking about, as for me one ditto category (i.e. "blog") would be enough, as long as I could assign multiple tags to the articles in this category. No need for mixing categories and tags imho, but I suppose others like to have categories.

In my eyes it looks a bit over the top to define new categories each time I need a new tag, that’s not less cumbersome than editing a TV to add new tags.

Maybe I should investigate more in doing it with the "file approach" I depicted above.

One question: What do you mean by

the Manager Manager widget displays all available tags from which you can choose from. have a look at (Evolution 1.0.1):
assets -> plugins -> managermanager -> docs -> widgets.htm (open it in a browser) and you see what i mean
