Page not found on adding new blog entry

Just wondered if anyone can help with this.

On adding a new blog entry an attempt is made to go to the newly created page but the following throws up a ’page not found’ error:

http://www.mysite.co.uk/80.html

I’m sure I’ve navigated to documents by just using the doc id in the past so why is there a problem now?

If you’re using friendly URLs and you have not set any alias for a document, its ID becomes the alias. Maybe you were using FURLs before and are not now?

Many thanks for the reply but FURLs are being used.

The blog entry is created ’on the fly’ from the front end - when I post the blog I get redirected to the newly created document which has an auto-generated alias such as:

article-1255169236

Any ideas?

Testing on my own front-end-created blog entries, I find that variations on the filename alias.suffix, ID.suffix and just ID all load my posts.

Are your posts really stored directly under the root? Are they definitely published? Checking what URL shows when you use the Preview button from the Manager might also provide a clue.
