Atom not validating: xhtml entity problems

Hi there

We’re having problems with xhtml named entities in atom feeds:

http://www.openrightsgroup.org/feed/atom

specifically characters like ’ which aren’t valid xml. (This is how MODx stores the characters however.)

We could try defining all these in the Atom header, but that might not work in all Atom clients.

Is there a reason why ditto doesn’t have a parser of some kind that could convert xhtml named entities to numeric entities? Is there a way to do this I’m not aware of?

if you are using TinyMCE you could set it to "Entity Encoding: raw" unde "Plugins" -> "TinyMCE" -> "Konfiguration"

I should ad, it is an answer, but doesn’t sort the fundamental problem, other people will come unstuck! Might be an idea for someone to look at something to parse the content sometime.
