Pagetitle from parent

I’ve checked around in the forum now, and either I just don´t know what to search for or this has simply been overlooked.

In my opinion a good structure is always needed when dealing with displaying data, and ofcourse also when editing data.
Lets say I have a catalogue with items in some categories.
Easy enough to create a container with all the categories and then having documents placed in each category and quite easy to display this in way in the front end.
I mean, to make a listing of a webpage, which has categories and items in every category should be easy to create.

But I can´t find anything to display the parent pagetitle to use as category name for the items.
I know there is [+parent+], but that only displays the ID of the parent and isn’t of much use in this case.

And I can’t be the first one to have the need to use Ditto in this way, since it "should" be a fairly common way do manage categories and items in a similar manner.

So I guess Í´m either missing something here on how to do...

Are you sure that Ditto is what you need? Wayfinder is often useful for more than just menus. It allows for display of the parent item with the &displayStart parameter, using the &startItemTpl parameter to specify the chunk to use as a template for it.

Well. I´m gonna test Wayfinder now. Seems like the 2.5 beta supports TVs and also odd/even classes so that might suffice.

Though I think [+parent-pagetitle+] is something could be used quite frequently by others then me.

I´ll try the WF and see if it´ll work.

Should be simple enough to write a parent pagetitle snippet and use that in any ditto/wayfinder calls.
