Ditto Paginate TPL thumbnail?

    I’d like to have each link in the paginate list use the following template (portfolioThumb is a TV):
    <a href="[+url+]"><img src="[+portfolioThumb+]"></a>

    But this does not work when I try the following call:
    [!Ditto? &startID=`4` &sortBy=`createdon` &display=`1` &paginate=`1` &tplPaginatePage=`portfolioPaginate` &tpl=`portfolioTemplate` !]

    I just want to have a thumbnail list instead of a numbered list...but I can’t get it to work! It displays nothing, and I’m not sure how I can accomplish this. Can someone give me some suggestions or help?
