ditto rss help

Followed the tutorial on the wiki - works great. Here is my question. I am trying to us a custom TV for the link but it’s not displaying the link. instead of using <link>[(site_url)][~[+id+]~][(site_url)</link>. I wanted to use <link>[+clientnews-links+]</link> (custom tv link) but it wont display the link. In the xml source it just has <a>Name of title</a>. Thanks in advance.

Try adding the hiddenFields parameter to your Ditto call.

What type of TV are you using and what values are you using for the TV?

thank you for replying - I am using a (input type) URL - widget (link)

I would be happy to supply a url via pm - due to being my development site for client.

Try removing the widget from the TV so only the path gets output, then change your chunk so the <link> element is:

And you don’t need the &hiddenFields parameter in the Ditto call.

Or if you’re using absolute URLs, remove the [(site_url)]

that worked great! awesome - but now my page that displays our "pretty" side of the site all the urls are unlinked. how should I go about using the tv correctly to handle both? once again thank you!

How are you using outputting the TV for the other parts of the site?
