    when a user is to be about to get the password sent by email, it doesn’t work when safe_mode is enabled

    mail() [function.mail]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The fifth parameter is disabled SAFE MODE.

    this is the code in save_user.processor.php which drops the error:

    466 if(!mail($email, $emailsubject, $message, "From: ".$emailsender."\r\n"."X-Mailer: Content Manager - PHP/".phpversion(), "-f $emailsender")) {
    467 webAlert("Error while sending mail to $mailto");
    468 exit;
    469 }

    Maybe you can check for safe_mode and then don’t use the smtp_path parameter?

    regards,
    mplx

      Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this is in fact a problem I’m facing myself right now.
      I’ve installed MODx 1.0.2 on a PHP 5.2.12 platform, running in Safe Mode.

      The errors I receive are identical to the ones Mplx described in the first post.

      Does anybody know a nifty work-around for this problem?
