Passing tag query to placeholder on external tags page

I have implemented article tagging on my site using Ditto’s tagging extender.

I have a Journal page with the following Ditto snippet call:


When I click on a tag I am taken to document 19, my Tags landing page. When I get there, the correct documents are filtered and displayed. However, one thing I want to do is display the name of the tag that the user clicked on. Here’s my code to give you and idea:


According to Mark Kaplan’s great video tutorial, the [+tags+] and/or [+tagLinks+] placeholder should display the tags that were passed to the page, but in my case they are not outputting anything.

Any idea what I need to do to get it to work?

Also, is there any way to display the number of documents returned?

If you can’t get the placeholders to work use the $_GET variable to get the tag data from the url string. You can read about how I did this here.

Sorry to be a pain, but any idea how I could get a count of the number of documents returned? I mean, I imagine I can use the same technique, but any idea where I could access or find that data?

The easiest way is to let Ditto do the work for us. Add &summarize=`1` &paginate=`1` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1`to the Ditto call on the page and then add the [+total+] placeholder to the output of the snippet from the blog by editing this line:
