'Active' class in Ditto

I’m thinking of using Ditto instead of Wayfinder for a menu. However, I’d really like an ’active’ and ’last’ class for the output. Anyone know if this is possible? Of course, I could create a menu using Wayfinder if I could output the links with the ’created on’ date.

PHX is what I use for the date info in ditto. But I don’t know how to do that in Wayfinder

I haven’t tried this but could you use the &tplLast and &tplCurrentDocument parameters in Ditto and then add the appropriate class="something" into the template chunks?
