How to get Reflect to use p= instead of q=?

I had to switch the p= that MODx normally uses due to Google’s AdSense for Search. But how do I fix Reflect so it uses something like q=?

It works if I give a URL like that, as an example. But not w/ p=.

EDIT: I switched p= and q=. Reflect is currently using q=, which gives a 404 since MODx was edited to use p=.

No one knows how to do this?

I for one don’t understand the issue. MODx does not use p= for anything. In fact, it uses q= for friendly urls (i.e. foo.html is really index.php?q=foo.html after being rewritten), so you can’t have Reflect hijack the q variable if you are using friendly urls. You would likely need to change the code to look for a different request variable if it uses $_GET[’p’] and you need to use that variable for something else (a la AdSense).

Ugh, I just realized I changed it to p= for MODx’s rewrites. So I’m needing to do the same change to Reflect, since it’s using q= (which MODx doesn’t know since I edited it to use p=) --- hence the 404 error.

Your problem may be with the makeUrl api function since Jot uses this to create the URL. You would need to edit several places in Jot to get it to wrork with p or edit the makeUrl function in the API but that is not advisable since you never know what will happen as a result

I use Google with a Q and modx with a q and that works fine, Google is not case sensitive. Are you embedding the results into your page or redirecting to Google for the results?

It was Ditto (technically the Reflect part), not Jot, that had the issue, btw. And I’m embedding the results in the page, which is why I needed to edit MODx’s URL function to get around it (since it would normally trigger MODx’s 404 error, since the page doesn’t technically "exist".
