I have a need to limit the number of characters outputted by Ditto to 85 for a front page section. I read the wiki info on using phx but I can’t seem to implement it. Has anyone done this and can you explain it.

    Thanks

        [+content:limit=`85`+]

but better [+content:notags:limit=`85`+] which also strips out HTML.

This is what I’m using now. Let me note: I want to limit the characters outputted in the intro section.

          [[Ditto? &startID=`55` &summarize=`5` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`ditto_blog` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags`]]

I’d like to limit these sections to 100 characters.

Works like a dream. Now, what code do I need to get the ’Read More ..’ link to show?

            I appareciate the help.

               <p class="ditto_link">[+link+]</p>

              Is the default I think.

Now, what code do I need to get the ’Read More ..’ link to show?

                <a href="[~[+id+]~]">Read more...</a>

That way you always get the read more link.

                <p class="ditto_link">[+link+]</p>

will only display if summary extension is enabled. But it would be difficult to "match" the parameters of the ditto call. So if there is always a read more link use my code. Otherwise ask again.
