Syndicating an RSS feed for MaxiGallery with Ditto

From what Ive read, it seems it’s not possible to list images from a MaxiGallery in an RSS feed using a Ditto call.. is that right?

I can get the [+pagetitle+]s of the galleries when using a call like [[Ditto? &startID=`23` &tpl=`MaxiGallery_chk` &format=`rss` ... but I cant work out how to also get the images in that gallery to generate in the feed

If this is a lost cause, can someone suggest an alternative? ..&me=`biiit of a n00b`

I think that you can include the images by actually using maxigallery in the ditto rss tpl. I have limited MaxiGallery experience but this is how I would try to do it.

this is what ive done so far:

Structure:

+MaxiGalleries
gallery1
gallery2
...

+bands
band1
band2
...

+events
event1
event2
...

every band and event has an [+associated_galleryids_tv+] template variable, which lets you specify which gallery ids are associated with that band/event.

in my first chunk i have
<galleries>[!MaxiGallery? &childgalleries_ids=`[+associated_galleryids_tv+]` &display=`childgalleries` &childgalleryTpl=`childGallery_chk` &order_by=`date` !]</galleries>

the childGallery_chk gets the id, picture path and title for each band or event’s associated galleries and puts them inside tags

so far so good!

now the tricky part..
Im working in flash for a full flashsite - so playing with this information so far is fine, but what about if i wanted to retrieve one of those single galleries, from flash, using the gallery id? can i call ditto from a url? so essentially flash is calling for an RSS feed for one picture gallery. if i could id then create a new chunk for the gallery feed, with another maxigallery call.

ah wait! the request extender!! (&extenders=`request`) like i said, bit of a n00b here

just thought id post an update for those who may have the same problem

to call ditto from a URL, you just use the ditto call, but with the ditto_ prefix. i actually tried this a while ago and it didnt work because i didnt realise i had to include &extenders=`request` in my document

this is going to make life so much easier for me in the future! thanks ditto hehe
