Wanting to move my news system from MyBB to MODx...would Ditto be useful here?

Right now, I’m using MyBB w/ the MyBB Bolt-On to grab the news posts. The Bolt-On script is hard to use in some regards for what I want to do, so I was thinking of moving it into MODx.

I want to have the news already archived, and grab them from the start of the month till the end of the month (using the published date of the article) --- right now I have to archive 30+ each month in MyBB, which is a royal pain in the rear at times, taking almost an hour if there’s a bunch of places I have to archive articles to. I also want to be able to have archives that grab all articles by month in a certain folder (like for each game). Does Ditto allow for this kind of searching and organizing of documents?

Also, I thought of using something like UserComments for commenting on the news articles, but there’s an issue when I show the articles in a group, since it would show the commments w/ them --- is there any way something could think of to only show them on the individual article’s page, or would I have to use a hidden div to "hide" them?

You can use ditto with filters or tags to get the grouping. Only show the comments on the article page itself, and not in the in the grouping page.

I am not familiar with MyBB so I can’t compare functions, but I am confident that this can be handled in MODx with Ditto no problem.
