Ditto call?

I am sorry that I am slow, but I am not a programmer and I am missing some of the basics here.

Okay, what is a ditto call? Where does it go? Does it go within the template itself or somewhere else? And can someone give an example of a ditto call? I am really sorry that I don’t have the fundamentals here and I appreciate anybody’s time answering me.

I have managed to get as far as installing and creating a simple template, but haven’t got any further than that because I am so lost with how ditto works.

First of all, here you find some answers about Ditto, with an example on a simple call here. In that example the list_li is a chunk containing the HTML-code for how you want your list to look like. Hope you get a step further.

Okay, I figured out why it wasn’t working. I used the sample code and couldn’t figure it out, but I took out the &tpl=`list_li’ when I realized I didn’t have that and it worked. I am really slow, but I appreciate your help as I am making progress. I thought I was putting it in the wrong place or something.
