[SOLVED] Why is [+summary+] wrapped in tags?

I have a tpl made, but for some reason the [+summary+] is being wrapped in <p> tags. Can someone tell me why or how I can change that? Thanks.

Are you using [*introtext*] TV for the [+summary+] placeholder or using the <!-- splitter --> ?
Maybe the summarized text is already enclosed by the <p> tags?
I’ve just tried with no tpl set and it doesn’t wrap the summary in <p> tags.

You’re right. I just assumed that ditto would strip the html tags. Any ideas on how I could remedy that? I mean, I need the <p> tags on the article page, but not in the truncated text from the ditto call. It’s double wrapping it and putting the "Read More..." link on another line. Thanks for your help and the quick response. I still need a solution - I’ll be working on it.

You could put the required summary text in the [*introtext*] TV without the <p> tags and not use the <!-- splitter -->
I guess that would stop the <p> tags being rendered

I can’t believe it was that easy. I was looking all over for it because I had read about it earlier, but adding :notags to the call fixed it. [+summary:notags+] it strips all the html out. Phew! Ditto rocks!
