[solved]Starting out with Ditto

Hi all,

I’ve just started out with Modx and so far I’m really impressed (and admittedly, slightly confused). I’m really after some advise to determine whether I am right in thinking Ditto is the right snippet to use for my aim... which is :

To generate a simple product listing using documents that are published in the Manager screen. I can use Ditto to generate a nice list of products, but only the Summary (intro text) is showing in the list that Ditto generates. What I’d like it to do instead is to show the content of the documents (along with the images included in the content).

Is this at all possible ? I’ve checked the parameter documentation, the wiki and other peoples posts but I’ve not found anything so far as how I would go about doing this (and even if it’s the right snippet to use!)

Always the way isn’t it, you post your problem and then about 20 minutes later you slap your head and go ’ooohhhhhh of course!’

(for those wanting to know how I got around this was to create a custom ’chunk’ in the manager with the tag [+content+] in instead of [+summary+], save it as ditto_product and then call it in the ditto statement : [!Ditto?depth=`1`&display=`all`&tpl=`ditto_product` !] )

hmm this is strange, i have the opposite problem, have ditto working so that where i place [+content+] into my custom template the result is that the content appears perfectly on my page,,, whereas if i place [+summary+] into the code instead nothing appears on the page ?

hopefully i can slap my head in twenty minutes time with this one as well

Try [+introtext+], which is the actual database field name of the summary field.

Did you set &extenders=`summary` in your ditto call ?
