Ditto is getting weirdier and weirdier

Ok, I have this kind of structure:

Home
-News
-News=NewsCategory1
-News=NewsCategory1==News11
-News=NewsCategory1==News12

-News=NewsCategory2==News22
-News=NewsCategory2==News23

-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==Review12
-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==Review13
-Reviews=ReviewsCategory2
-Reviews=ReviewsCategory2==Review21
-Reviews=ReviewsCategory2==Review22
-Reviews=ReviewsCategory2==Review23


So on my home page I have two columns. One showing 3 last News(News1,2,3) and the other the 3 last Reviews(Review1,2,3).
I’ve used this to call them out:

News Column1
[[Ditto? &parents=`48` &summarize=`3` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`ditto_blog` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags` &depth=`2`]]

Reviews Column2
[[Ditto? &parents=`79` &summarize=`3` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`ditto_blog` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags` &depth=`2`]]

Where 48 is the id of News Container and 79 id of the Reviews container.

I have also used the same codes sepearte, each into its own Document Container. At News the first one, and at Reviews the second code

Now the thing is that, News are displayed fine on both Document Containers, Home(Column1) and News.

BUT the second code gives me troubles. It displays all of the documents which are contained in News and Reviews. How is this possible?? I cannot figure this out. I clearly set the &parent parameter to be 79 which is the id of that Document Container, Reviews. Why does it displays the documents of News??

Does the situation change when you use uncached form ( [!...!] ) for both Ditto calls ?

nope, its still the same

EDIT: Could it have something to do with the fact that I duplicated the Document Container News, and made Reviews out of it?

The both containers(News and Review) are cacheable ?
If so, why don’t you change them to non-cacheable ?

And did you cleared cache of MODx ?

You should look into assigning each Ditto call an id so they don’t conflict

Ok, I think I solved that, It was kind of my mistake. I had the same articles copied from NewsCategories(News11, News12..) into the ReviewsCategories and they showed in. How stupid of me, I know.

But now, I have another problem, and I’m 100% it has anything to do with me. I double checked, triple checked and I don’t know how many times.

Here it is:

In Reviews I have this Ditto code:

[[Ditto? &parents=`79` &summarize=`3` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`ditto_blog` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &paginateAlwaysShowLinks=`1` &tagData=`documentTags` &depth=`2`]]

which should display every Review Document Contained in both ReviewCategories(1 and 2), right? Thats how it is in News, and it displays fine, like this:

-News=ReviewsCategory1==Articles13
-News=ReviewsCategory2==Articles21
-News=ReviewsCategory2==Articles22
-News=ReviewsCategory2==Articles23

(only sorted by date)

Well in Reviews it displays the following instead:

(-Reviews=)ReviewsCategory1
(-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==)Review11
(-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==)Review12
(-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==)Review13
Read More

(-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==)Review11
(-Reviews=ReviewsCategory1==)Review12

As you can see, the first one is a link to the category, which just doesn’t belong there because of the &depth=`2` parameter.
and the second glitch is that, no document from the second category (ReviewsCategory2) is displayed.

Which doesn’t make any sense to me. It is the same structure as News, I duplicated it and simply renamed all the documents in it, alias and everything. It simply doesn’t make sense.

I swear this has nothing to do with my mistakes this time. I’ve been playing around with it 2 days long and couldn’t find any logical explanation. Its getting really depressing..

So anyone has any ideas about this?


EDIT: It actually was because of the duplicated documents. I noticed that the publication date of all duplicated documents was the same. So I deleted them, and created them each one manually and it worked. Everything showed up like it should.

So if anyone has problems like these with Ditto, check to see if your documents are not duplicated. I don’t know why, but Ditto gets confused somehow and displays weird things.
