Ditto can it truncate tv instead of +summary+

I dont use the summay input box or content box in modx all my content is in tv’z, how do I get a ditto call to summarize the content of a tv’? and then also how to truncate the contents?

My call is

[[Ditto? &startID=`15` &summary=`3` &total=`20` &commentsChunk=`CommentsBlog` &truncLen=`20` &truncOffset=`10` &tpl=`BlogTemplate` &extenders=`summary` &truncSlit=`0` &paginate=`0` &alwaysshow=`1` &trunc=`1`]]

but it only works with the introtext field in modx.

Something like [+tvname:notags:limit=`nnchars`+] if you don’t mind installing PHx:

Ditto can natively process PHx commands so you wouldn’t even need to install PHx if you’d prefer not to.

This seem to be an easy solution, but it cut the words which isn’t so good. So, can you truncate the pagetitle with words, somehow?
