Ditto + TV's = editable content with Previous & Next buttons?

I think I’ve figured this out...
Top menu is just Wayfinder.
Middle section is a DITTO with 2 TV’s (one on the left and one on the right).
The arrow buttons are [+previous+] and [+next+] Ditto Placeholders.
...Right?

Is it that confusing? Or am I just so bad nobody will talk to me?

I’m honestly not following the example. I see questions about what you’re doing but don’t know what the requirement is based on how you’ve worded the inquiry. If you’ve built it and it works then ... "CATEGORY template" is new terminology to me, too, and stating that each Ditto presentation is built from two pages further confuses the matter..

Ok, thanks! I wasn’t really using MODx-specific terminology, so I totally understand the confusion.

Basically, what I’ve called a "CATEGORY template" is a document linked with the Wayfinder menu and each document has a custom template.

On each custom-templated document, there needs to be a pairing of two blocks of content. This content needs to be editable. It also needs to proceed in a series with a "next" and "previous" button. Since Ditto is useful for this prev/next feature, I figured Ditto was the way to go.

BUT, since it is two blocks of content (like a "pair" of shoes, rather than just one shoe), I figured that within Ditto I need to define 2 Template Variables so that each block is editable separately.

It must function as a PAIR, meaning that if you click the "next" button, it shows you the next pair, not just updating one block of content, but both simultaneously.

Ditto would handle that indeed. You just need either 2 TVs or the content and an extra TV.

Awesome! I love the fact that MODx is actually intuitive enough that I can figure something out even if I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.

Could you give me any idea on how to set up this Ditto? So far, I got a Ditto module working, but all it says is "No Document Found." I really can’t figure out how the heck to do it, even though I theoretically figured it out.

"No Document Found" suck. maybe try adding &depth= to your Ditto call

Step 1

Create a chunk based on following code and note its name. This document will assume you named it DittoTemplate.
Default display template (tpl):

Step 2

Append &tpl=`DittoTemplate` to your snippet call and Ditto will use your custom template

So, I have a chunk named DittoTemplate.
And in my Template, I have [!Ditto? &tpl=`DittoTemplate`!]

... Do I need to create a New Document in addition to the DittoTemplate chunk? If so, the above tutorial doesn’t mention that.
