External ditto call?

Hi, is it possible to make a ditto call from an external php page?

I’ve made a ditto call in modx to list all the documents in a parent folder (eg. parent id=100).

Now, i would like to get the results from that ditto call on a php page, something like output_parent.php

So, can i use the same ditto call from modx (modified of course), or do I have to grab the output from the ditto call?

You can do it in about 3 different ways:

• Import the modx-page where you placed your Ditto call. A simple include(’http://www.domain.tld/dittoresults.php’) should do.
• Import the MODx API library in your external PHP file. Then run the Ditto call with $modx->runSnippet() - http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/API:runSnippet
• In the MODx doc, write a Ditto call as usual, but use the "save" parameter, which will suppress the HTML-rendering, but give you a multidimensional PHP array to work with. You could import (include/require) this modx-page and build your list based on that array.
