Hi,
I’m having issues displaying my RSS feed on my live site. I get an error "Error while inserting event log into database." when I set it to RSS. On my localhost it works fine.
Is this something on the live server I need to set or add?
I’m a newbie to this whole thing, please excuse me if this is really simple.

That means you’ve got two problems. The event log is for logging errors. So this means that there is an error, plus there is a problem with the event log table in the database. It is possible that when you moved the site, the event log table lost the auto_increment of its id field. Check the structure of the event_log table in phpMyAdmin (or whatever MySQL client you use) and make sure the Extra for the id field has auto_increment.
I still appear to have now joy with this. The database field does have a auto increment in it. I also loaded a fresh modx sample intsall and received the same error message.
Setup looks the same with php, mysql etc. Any other ideas?
If you view the Event Log (in the manager) are there any entries? If you "clear" the log is there an error? The error you describe is a database error while recording to the event log. But you also have the error that is causing the event to be logged as well.
Things to look into: Clear the cache. Are the production and live databeses using the same collation/charset? Do you get errors with other activities (creating chunks, new pages, etc...)? Is the RSS feed in the correct format? Are you using FURLs? If so try it with them off and see if it helps.

And are you sure that the rss document has no template assigned? Template headers will definitely cause rss to choke.
