Ditto Examples

Is there any examples of some basic calls the provide truncated content with a ’read more’ link?
How about examples of a call that will output a list of documents in a certain folder?

e.g. &parents=`5` would list all docs in container id 5

The demo site has an example of this.

I noticed from the extenders page that "As for version 2, Ditto will no-longer support the summary placeholder natively as it is resource intensive and superseded (introtext field)"

What can I use to accomplish this without using the introtext field?

You need to add the extender parameter to the Ditto call to load the summary extender.

I think I’ll just populate the introtext field, and use the placeholder [+introtext+]

I tried using the [+link+] placeholder, but it didn’t seem to do anything. From the WIKI article:

[+link+] - Creates a link to the document, with the text "Read more...".

Never mind found the answer to [+link+]
I still need to call &extenders=summary
