Ditto, Reflect, and Tags

I’m positive this question has been asked, but after searching I’ve been unable to find it...

So... I have ditto displaying all my entries on one page with pagination:



When I added the &id=`r_d_r` my placeholders stopped working:



I have a reflect sidebar, and a reflect at the bottom of the/each listing page landing (except the reflect landing page [71]):

I also have tags (as you can see), with their own landing page.

Now, when I click on a tag, and then I click on a reflect item, or if I click on a reflect item, and then I click on a tag both of their GET parameters get placed into the link and they get mixed together.

I actually have two tagging systems (one for categories) and both of those work fine, I want those to mix (I thought I’d leave those mechanics out because it’s just a duplicate extension of the tagging one). However, when the user is on the archive page, or when they click a reflect link...

How can I clear one parameter set and only use the other? (only reflect’s or only a tag’s)

Sorry, I have reflect calls on all the pages actually.

If I can recall correctly, u need to prefix the placeholders like:

[+r_d_r_start+]

.... and for 2nd call, suppose its id is "call2", make [+call2_start+] for it.

Anyone know how I can prevent GET parameter mixtures, and get only the mixtures I want? Or was the previous answer tied to this question?

If you plan on having multiple Ditto calls using pagination on one page or using Reflect in your template make sure you use the &id parameter. Set it to a unique string and then update your placeholders to the format [+id_placeholder+]. Also, If you have PHx installed you will need to call Ditto cached on an uncached page

However, I’m still having some problems. Now I have a ditto call with id rde, the bottom reflect call as id refbot, and the sidebar reflect call as id refsid.

Still same set-up as before, when I click on the refbot or refsid links it takes me to the archive page with the refsid_year=.... etc. GET parameters. Yet still, even though the ditto call is id rde on the archive page, when I click on a tag/category link on the archive page after arriving there, it combines the refsid=... and the other tag/category GET parameters together.

Any thoughts?

If you already have &rde in your url and you click on refsid Ditto will add that to the url since the parameters are not the same. If they were the same, Ditto would replace the old value with the new value as expected. Otherwise Ditto just preserves the URL’s get parameters.

To clear a parameter, you would have to provide an empty value for the parameter. Then its effect will be nullified.
