Ditto not summarizing

Sorry for cross postings -

Ditto will not summarise by blog posts! Here’s what I have on the listings page:

[!Ditto? &startID=`1` &summarize=`10` &total=`20` &tpl=`BlogTemplate`!]

And here’s the relevant part of the blog template:
<p>Summary: [+summary+]</p>

But the output is blank: (quoted from source):
<p>Summary: </p>

Unfortunately I am working on this for a friend so don’t currently know specifics of the server, it’s apache on linux with php 4 I think, and MySQL. If this will really help I could find out?

You need to add &extenders=`summary` to use the summary placeholder.

Glad I just found this fix... could I suggest you add a note to this effect on the ditto documentation page?

It explains how you can start with this template:

and customize it to your liking, but it doesn’t mention that the summary won’t actually print unless you add the "extenders" thing to the ditto call.

I’m sure perhaps modx experts would understand the need for this "extenders" call, but to the new modx user, it isn’t intuitive at all.
