Suddenly problem of sorting by date (createdon and pub_date) under Ditto

I have two sites that worked very well for over a year and recently the date sort have become crazy (no more sort by DESC createdon or pub_date ).

Did anybody experienced the same problem?
Cant it be an update PHP / MySQL who cause the problem ?


site 1 : MODx 095, Ditto 1.0.2, PHP 5.2.4, Mysql 5
site 2 : MODx 0961, Ditto 2.0.2 PHP 5.2.5, Mysql 5.0.51

What’s your ditto call (assuming the ditto results are no longer sorting properly...)?

You might also want to take a peek at the migration guide from 1.x to 2.x (and even grab the latest SVN trunk version there) at ditto.modxcms.com

I really don’t understand all was ok since a few days and nothing was changed in the manager

It’s 2 sites hosted on different server.

I have a lot of different Ditto calls for the site under 0951and all have problems

Are you aware of any recent PHP/MySQL upgrades on these servers? If so, does it coincide with the appearance of this issue? There are any number of things that could have occurred, including a problematic restore from backup, upgrades, etc., but we’re going to need some additional information to diagnose this.

For the site in 0961 there was an update to PHP 5.2.5 recently (under Plesk).
After discussions with the site owner, it turns out that the Wayfinder menus are no longer either sorted by indexmenu ,

I noticed that the the documents position in the manager was now the same as on the site menus ?!!

I try to force Wayfinder &sortBy to "pagetitle" in the snippet call and in the "$wf->_config" but noting has changed :’( :’( :’(

This honestly sounds like a problem with the MySQL configuration, or the PHP MySQL client, but I can’t think of any reason off the top of my head why this sorting would just stop working. I wonder if the default timezone is set in your PHP configuration. I know that is a common mistake when deploying PHP 5.2.x, since a default timezone is required, but not set in the distributed php.ini. Hopefully the people at Plesk have figured that out though...

I have similar issues with working modx sites when updated to MySQL 5.0.51 from MySQL 4.

I’m testing, but havn’t found anything yet...

The problem seems to be a bug in MySQL 5.0.51 corrected in MySQL 5.0.52
