In short : I wanted to know if there’s a way to get Ditto to search for "fields"/placeholder in another table than site_content ?

Just wanted to bump this topic.
We want to modify Ditto to use a different table prefix in the same database. Can anyone point us in the right direction?
So far we’ve tried hard-coding a different table prefix (all instances in the file ditto.class.inc.php), to no avail.
The point of this mod is to allow one MODx install to access docs in another MODx install in the same database.
