first of all I want to say, that modx is one of the best cms I’ve ever seen and working with it is pure fun! And I am also very grateful for the possibility to post in this forum. You’re doing a great work here!
During the last 2 days I tried to display a shorter version of news to my frontpage by using ditto to do that. After reading the documentation and most of the posts in here, most of the request works well, but the text is not being truncated yet.
I’ve tried the following expressions:
Chunk:
<li>
<strong>[+date+]</strong><br /><a href="[~[+id+]~]" title="[+title+]">[+summary+]...</a>
</li>
Call:
[!Ditto? &parents=`47` &display=`5` &tpl=`actualnews` &dateFormat=`%d. %B %Y` &extenders=`summary` &trunc=`true` &truncOffset=`15` &truncLen=`120`!]
I’ve tried this code and changed some of the values, but I only got the whole text and not a truncated version.
What can I do else?
