I had a problem with relative links inside the content of a feed when the feed itself isn’t at the root level. I’m using a custom RSS feed and I actually changed the template to insert the content instead of the description, so my exact situation may not be one that a lot of people have to deal with. I added an xml:base declaration to the feed template and that solved the relative link problems, like so:
<rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xml:base="[(site_url)]">
Just thought I’d mention it here because it might be a good idea to do this in future template versions, since I don’t think it would cause any problems for those who don’t need it and it might solve some for those who do.
Which version of Ditto are you using? Ditto 2.1b2 or later should rewrite relative urls in its RSS output to be absolute. Still, I think this is a good idea. Please file a ticket for this using the link in my signature.
