Ditto intro text truncation

Hi sorry if this is a silly question
I have ditto 2.0.2 installed and running but I cant see an obvious way to limit the number of characters displayed from the introtext field i.e. no truncation seems to work on introtext.

I think (but could be wrong) that there is a legacy way of doing something like this based on summary and values for truncation in the snippet call however I wanted to ask if there is a way to truncate the introtext field?

The introtext will not truncate ... there is a way to auto truncate out of the content though ... see the documentation on the extenders for more information.

Thanks for the clarification, I figured that might be the case.

I’m having trouble running the summary extender I’m getting the message
"summary’ extender does not exist. Please check it."
I’ve checked the extender is installed in the
snippets/ditto/extenders directory which it is but still no luck.

I think I need the summary extender and then use [+summary+] in the template chunk with truncLen in the snippet call
but any advice/tips on getting this running are very much appreciated...
