[SOLVED] create a single RSS feed page that can be used multiple times

This is my chunk in full.



I have tried to test the URL method by creating my own and I get the same result.

I’m running ModX 0.9.6. Sorry for not mentioning this sooner. The majority of the chunk is made up from using the RTF and then pasting it out via the HTML page and popping it into a chunk.

I have a link that is purely done through the RTF on my home page so no chunks are call. Everthing appears to be the same when using extenders

I have checked the chunks and there is absolutely no whitespace in it at all. I ahve amended my recipient page to read:

[!Ditto?extenders=`request`&parents=`47,52`!]

Just to try to call it with out any additional URL strings and I get the same result... a blank line at line 1.

Removing the extenders parameter allows the Ditto call and xml to generate perfectly.

I’m very greatful of your time and effort. I’m hoping to get some time to try it on v0.9.5. I’ll post back what I get.

There might be some whitespace outside the [tt]<?php ?>[/tt] tags in one of the extenders you’re using...

I’m not really using anything that begins with <?php myself and I’m at a loss at finding if there is any white space. I had a quick check on the request extender code and cant see anything. I had a look through the ditto code and didnt see anything there.

BIG BIG BIG Kudos to Mark for taking the time to look into this. The problem has been solved by Mark by removing some whitespace from the request.extender.inc.php file.

Although they cant be seen they are there and they stop it from working so here’s what to do.

Use the manager to get to the file request.extender.inc.php

deleted the following lines and then put them back in:

Line 2 - empty line between <?php and /*
Line 10 & 11 - two empty lines between */ and $variables = array

Scroll to the bottom of the file and delete any lines after ?>
also delete any line above ?> but below } like so:



I hope that make sense. After Marks efforts I had a look at the old file with WinMerge and checked it against the New and it highlights the areas in orange.

In reality, simply removing the whitespace on line 102 would’ve done the trick

I always like to omit the last [tt]?>[/tt] in my PHP files for this specific purpose (doesn’t hurt anything in my experience). But that’s just my practice. Glad it’s all figured out!
