A modx newbie need help w ditto for newspublishing

Hi everybody!
I need to install ditto for newspublishing on a site. Im pretty new to modx and doesnt get ditto at all. Everything i find seem to depend om that i already know how to install it.

I have put the files (2.02) on the server and created at snippet.
How will the structure look like in the file three?
How can i put a news summary on the front page? (This i can probably figure out)
Which way do i create new articles later? From the manager?

Should i use Newspublisher as in this guide: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_Blog

Perhaps when i figure this out ill write a Ditto-tutorial for beginners.

Ditto shows articles, NewsPublisher creates them from the frontend. Ditto will show documents created both with NewsPublisher and documents created within the manager. How you wish to create the documents is up to you. From a quick glance, I’d say follow the guide as it seems to be accurate, albeit for Ditto 1 it should still work.

After som experimentation its starting to clear now. However, is there possible to let the newspublisher page be visible for admin only?

Hi, I’m new too in modx.. can I say that it’s not so many documantation about modx NewsPublisher..? It’s werry interesting, how to let the newspublisher page be visible for admin only. Mayby whit the parameter &cantedit??? couse when I create NewsPublisher it can see all web users, but I wont that just administrators, or other users whit other role can see this page in menu whit wayfinder and other web users cant see it. how to do that? Please help, it’s wery important for security, becaus everyone who come to my site can post new.. it’s not good... some one know how to let just administrators see this page from front edit???

To make the newspublisher page private set the permissions to the group that can view the document. The newspublisher should be on it’s own page/document for this to work.

Yes, it would only show up for those logged in and have access to that page (assuming Wayfinder is called uncached).

I do this and it works very well. Create as many web users as you need. Create an editing group. Then assign the page to the group and the web users to the group. The users should be the only ones who can see the page (and only if they’re logged on).

It will probably take some tweaking to get things the way you want them.
