Ditto cache problems - new entries not being shown

Using 0.9.5, on my front page I use ditto to display recent news headlines

the ditto call is this

[!Ditto? &tpl=`frontPageNewsStory` &startID=`19` &summarize=`1` &displayArchive=`0`!]

The problem is that sometimes a new document is not being shown until I log in and clear the cache.

The document in question is in the right folder, is published and is also marked as cacheable. During testing, it seems to work for me but after a while when the client does it, the headlines are not being updated, all I do is clear the cache and refresh the page so the client is not doing anything wrong. EDIT empty cache? is also checked END EDIT

Probably unrelated but the template switcher was installed and enabled - just for something to do I disabled it.

Can anyone help?, this is about the only thing the client wants and it doesn’t work reliably

Delete the template switcher plugin entirely. It is a source of all sorts of problems. You might try making the page in question non-cacheable.
