One of the problems I had recently was calling the current page id from within Ditto. Thanks to the help here I have managed to make a workaround using a different template for certain pages (the `[*id*]` call doesn’t work from within a document, only from a template for me for some reason).
Anyway, I have since come up against a different issue. Because I put the [*id*] call (eg parents=`[*id*]`) in my Ditto call in a template I had another issue when it came to using that template in further sub documents. I ended up needing to find a way of calling the parent of the current document. Ultimateparent didn’t work because you have to specify a top id.
Not sure if anyone else has needed this, but perhaps it might be useful for Ditto to have a negativeDepth call added to it. For example &negDepth=`[*id*]-1` to tell it to work down from the level above the current document?
