I’m using Ditto to output RSS for a tagged blog. What I would like to know is how can I insert <category> elements into the RSS output for each tag against the post? This seems to be the standard way of tagging feeds. I noticed in the Ditto classes there is a [+tagLinks+] placeholder in the RSS template but I don’t know enough to understand how to use it.

If you followed the tagging screencast then all you need to do is add those same parameters to the call and Ditto will take care of things for you. The relevant parameters are tagData and tagDelimiter.

I had tried that, and looking at the preview it appeared that the RSS feed would always be empty if I did what you suggested. My initial guess was that it was because the URL used to access the XML feed did not contain the tag in the query string so everything was being filtered out. However, if I view the RSS source I see what is wrong, the last category for each post is not correctly completed, e.g.:
<category>Activities</category>
<category>Support Groups</category>
<category>Swimming</category
Note the last category does not have the > to close it.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Bug fixed (Now thats got to be a record!). The development version should fix the issue.
