I’m not entirely sure that this is possible as I couldn’t spot a parameter that would specify the inclusion of restricted docs but here’s the question anyway.
1. I have a number of documents that I would like to summarise in a list, each link displayed with the document summary.
2. These documents are restricted so only registered users can view them.
3. I would like to display the summary of these documents to unregistered users to that they can see the value of registering.
4. If different CSS classes could be applied to the links depending on the login status that would be a great benefit.

Mark: when you read this topic I’d like to say that I need this capability too for a commercial site I’m about ready to start constructing. I also had this same need for another commercial site I did last year. For that site I used the first version of Wayfinder to generate my document lists, and we had to hire a programmer to modify it slightly to allow it to list items that by default were hidden.
What we had the programmer do, and what I’d like to request you do for Ditto, is to add a new parameter named something like "showPrivate". This would be a boolean that if TRUE would let Ditto list documents that the current user is not authorized to see, but that otherwise qualify for inclusion in the list (are published, have showMenu set, etc.).
It sounds to me that the needs my clients are the same as wiredimage’s: They need to be able to show a list of documents whose titles and summaries are compelling enough to convince a visitor to register at the site (or pay, etc.) to gain access to them.
