Show most popular/most viewed

I don’t think this is currently possible, but please correct me if I’m wrong. But hopefully someone has an idea on how a TV or some other way to create a counter.

Thinking of creating a FAQ section and using Ditto for front end presentation. My thought was to have 2-3 most popular/most viewed, and then the rest into archive.

So the thought would be to have some way of tracking views and using that to determine the top 2-3.

I guess start with a plugin using event id #95 onLogPageHit. then maybe writes or updates that value to a TV.
Something like that? Do you need more details or Ideas? I don’t know if an app like this exists for modx yet, but I am usually wrong when I say stuff like that.

I may have to chew on that for awhile. I haven’t quite got by "coding" legs just yet...

that or now that the seed has been planted, I imagine others will jump on this ship as well, at least it certainly seems like one of those, "ya, I need that too," kind of things and someone who really knows what they are doing will take the lead

Cool, we will consider this one "your baby" for now, so update us forum members on your progress here, and if you need some help, well... you are on your own. just kidding. I agree that a lot of folks are looking at this and saying "I need that", so if you want some help, I am interested in this type of MODx app as well.

Susan has a basic stats counter for MODx 095 so you might want to base it on that.
