To those have responded, here are the most common feature requests that already exist in Ditto:

I’d like to be able to feed Ditto a list of document IDs that I have selected/generated from somewhere else. (Possibly a TV of Featured stories, possibly a Most Popular pages search).

Just use the following syntax [[Ditto? &startID=`[*tvname*]` &summarize=`3`]] with the output widget set to be a comma delimited list.

Some the option to turn entire output off if no results are found. Like the snippet wasn’t there.

Just set &emptyText=``

Maybe some kind of custom sorting (by TV, that would be nice)

Just use &sortBy and &sortDir. If you are using a TV, just prefix it with TV and the snippet will take care of the rest.

Hi Mark,

I filled out yesterday. But one thing came to mind: Would it be possible (in combination with quickedit) to - somehow - edit the entries of a ditto listing via quickedit? Reason is I often use ditto to show a list of content items which are not accessible as a detail page. So the only possibility to edit their content/TVs is via manager. So one possibility for editing could be a parameter passed to the ditto call (eg. &editable=1 &editgroups=administrator) and then I have edit symbol/link (perhaps placable via placeholder in the ditto tpl) from where I can edit its content. Of course it would be possible with a snippet which displays edit links in the listing only for administrators, but I think it could well be integrated in ditto itself.

That is one feature I have been attempting to add to Ditto for some time but have not yet completed.

Marc, that’s one thing I’ll add a +1 to.

I know it’s another (yet related) subject but we had another (less specific) discussion (can’t remember where) to request that QuickEdit be available for web users and not limited to manager users... I’ll try to find this and post the link, there was some interresting discussion there.
