For everyones information, Ditto is now available (NewsListing’s successsor) in another thread (click the logo in my signerature). Please use Ditto instead of NewsListing for all new sites as NewsListing has been deprecated.
strange ever since I upgraded to NL 6.4.2 the ( < previous 1 2 3 next >) links don’t work, I also tried it with ditto and still not working
it was working before the upgrade,
tried it this way
Showing [+start+] - [+stop+] of [+total+] Articles
[+previous+] [+pages+] [+next+]
You are calling the script uncached correct?
correct,
I also have found that when turning off friendly URLs the links work again
What FURL settingas are you using? If you have the ?q= method than yes, you cannot use pagination without altering the script...
yes using ?q=
what would be the recommended method ? or is only a matter of turning off pagination
the newslisting snippet prior to 6.4.2 worked with ?q= how come it changed with the updated versions ?
Actually, it is impossible that NL 4.4+ would have worked with q= by default. See, I hardcoded either ? if FURLS were on or & if FURLS were off. If it really matters to you I can put out a quick patch to allow you to use it. But this would only be for Ditto as NL has been retired.
that would be excellent, thanks, i’ve grown quite attached to ?q= lol
thanks again

bugsmi0,
Out of curiosity, why the preference for "?q=" alias as opposed to friendly aliases which gives human readible and arguably better performing search results?

using ?q= comes in handy as not all the pages end up with a name, and the ones that do I just like the
way ?q=(calling the page) has a catalog feeling to it vs just a page.html, i like the visual representation. Sometimes, you aren’t sure what to name something so a number is good until a name is found
