    Hi everyone! grin

    I’m new to MODx’s world. My web designer has started this new project with MODx Revo 2.0.6 and I have to implement all the dynamic parts.
    The site includes two catalogs: one will show the "A Type" products, and one will show the "B Type" products, but these are linked to "A type" products (a "A Type" product may be related to x "B Type" products).
    A superuser must have access to a form where he can delete, modify or add products, and relate these to others.
    Each product must have its own page, with images and technical data.

    I’m a PHP programmer, so I have an idea of what there is to do. But I really don’t know how to do it in MODx. undecided
    First I found this tutorial: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Howto_catalogue but it talks about eForm, and it seems that this is not available for MODx Revo.
    Then I found this 4 alternatives by reading the forum:
    1) VisioCart (a bit too complex, and it’s still a beta version)
    2) Ditto (only alpha version?)
    3) getResources
    4) Jot (not available for Revo?)

    What do you think? Which of these is the best solution?
    I’ve forgot to say that the website (and catalogs too) must be at least in 3 different languages.

    Thank you in advance. wink

        Use these packages instead

        Ditto --> getResources & gePage

        Jot --> Quip

        Multiple Languages check out Babel. I have not used this package yet, but I believe it works with other languages.

        Instead of VisioCart you other option is to create resources with TV’s. With each resource you can output the TV for each product page. Using getResources you can then setup your "type A" and "type B" products page which will grab a summary of each page. Use chucks and grab specific TV’s.

        For example you could create 3 Template Variables called Images, Price, Description

        Check out this link for documentation on each modx package.

          Thank you very much. laugh

          Are there tutorials about using getResources and getPage? I’ve already found one about Babel.

            If you have to manage a lot of products try vision-cart instaed of using modx-resources for each product.

              I only need a very simple catalog... I think there will be about 100 products for each language. Should I consider this amount "a lot of"?

                I have a similar problem but I decided to go ahead and provide the ability to synchronize data with an external database.
                I see so
                Directory structure as a tree created in modx
                and TV with a list of key (products)
                need to write sniplet outputting a list and description of the product
                either need to write a module (script) many times a day will create / delete documents modx with TV Bindings inside a tree.
                a list of conclusions getResources
