I’ve used NewsEditor in the past to get articles published on a site, but that required having a separate browser set up with a webuser logged in. For a client not needing to see the manager that was fine.

But I’d like a similarly "nice" way of publishing an article for a user logged into the backend, particularly while a site is under development and not published. NewsEditor (and it appears ResourceEditor) expect the user to be logged into the front-end, of course, and there doesn’t seem to be a straightforward way of enabling them for a backend user to use.

Can anyone tell me if I am mistaken in that impression (and if so, how I can put them into use from the backend) or point me towards another solution? I’ve done some Google searches, but suspect I am missing something.

    TIA,
    Matt

      Hi Matt,

QuickManager lets you create & edit resources in the frontend when logged in as a manager user: http://www.maagit.fi/palvelut-ja-tuotteet/quickmanager-plus

but there’s also a plugin which allows you to log in as a manager user and as a web user at the same time: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,37693.msg275788.html#msg275788

      hope this helps, j

It’s kind of clunky, but you could just have the user preview the page with the NewsPublisher snippet tag, although it might not work in Evo due to the separation of Web and Manager users.
