I’m trying to offer a user front end editing options and could use help from those who have found working solutions...

The goal is simple - enable the user to rich text edit (TinyMCE perhaps) the text on 1 page, no images, hopefully via QuickEdit.

I find that QuickEdit works well at allowing the user to edit text on their homepage, but of course they are editing in HTML. What are the options in taking the next step and setting up a TV, (perhaps with a Rich Text output widget?) and giving the user access to it from the front end?

I’ve done a lot of reading and perusing of message boards but have yet to find a clear, step-by-step approach to this seemingly common issue.

Any ideas or instruction greatly appreciated!

If you use Quick Manager you can have an editable region on any page by using [*content*] in the template or content of the resource.

        I’m currently using MODX 0.9.6.3, which doesn’t support QuickManager+

Is it worth the upgrade? What is the learning curve on QuickManger?

Is there a way to achieve rich-text frontend editing without Quickmanager?

I am not sure if you can do that with that version of Evo.

I would completely recommend upgrading to the latest version of Evolution which is 1.0.4

There is no learning curve to use the Quick Manager plugin. It’s very straight forward.

Wow, just did a fresh install of Evo, i didn’t realise QuickManager+ was built right into the front End. Amazing...

            Thx

One more question, Quickmanager seems to work perfectly in Firefox (v.2) but clicking on ’Edit Resource’ renders a blank white screen in Safari (1.3.2).

I’ve seen a few posts on this ’white screen of death issue with Quickmanager+, are there any tricks or settings which need to be adjusted to avoid the white screen issue?

I’ve just upgraded to Quickmanager+ 1.5.1 , but and followed all instructions on configuration settings, but still no luck...

                Firefox (v.2) / Safari (1.3.2)
Is that correct as current versions are Firefox 3.6.8 & Safari 5.0.1 shocked

                  I just tested on

                  Evo 1.0.4
                  Quickmanager 1.3.4.1
                  Safari 4.0.4
                  Windows xp 64-bit

                  and it worked.

Probably need to upgrade your safari. I will check on my mac later tonight to see if it’s a safari - mac environment issue.

                    duh, you’re both absolutely correct.

Quickmanager 1.5.1 wasn’t working on my pathetically old version of Safari, but I checked it on more recent versions and everything was fine.

                    Thanks for your help
