Ok so I have an ambitious plan that I’m not even sure is possible.
Basically I need to manage videos. So my idea is to set up a template and use Modx to manage the library. The idea is a user will create a new document;
Using the file manage upload or select the video into a template variable
add the appropriate tags, etc.
The next step, which I’m not sure is possible is I’d like to utilize FFMpeg to create a thumbnail of that video
when the document is saved. So I think using a plugin I can do that but what needs to happen is I need to be able to read the populated video SRC template var from the newly created document.
I then need to not only save that thumbnail but populate a TV in that newly created document with the newly created thumbnail
I can do the ffmpeg work but I’m still at the VERY beginning of this and need to know if this is even possible? And of course, it all has to happen once the user hits ’Save’ in the Modx manager.
So essentially, is this possible? and does anyone have any links on how to modify template variables on save of the newly created document?
