    Hi!

I’m news to MODx and I’m very impressed of the things you can do with it. At the moment I’m playing around and try to understand the things I copy and paste on my playground system wink

I have an Evolution 1.0.3 installed and try to achive a News section with a view per month. Structure is like this:

    - News [5]
    - News_entry_1
    - News_entry_2
    - ...

The page itsself is parted in a main and a sidebar. I want to have the links to year and month in the sidebar on any page below News and News itsself.

Therefore I have a Template for these pages with this Reflect call in the sidebar:
    [!Reflect? &config=`wordpress` &dittoSnippetParameters=`parents:5` &id=`wp` &getDocuments=`1` &targetIdD=`5`!]

Situation is now, that I have the month of the post in the sidebar in every News_entry_* page but nothing on the News page itsself. Solved that myself - wrong template.

On the News page I wanna have the summaries of all News_entry pages, within the month selected on the sidebar, if selected. The summary seems to work with this Ditto call:
    [[Ditto? &parents=`5` &display=`5` &removeChunk=`Comments` &tpl=`story_summary` &paginate=`1` &extenders=`summary,dateFilter` &tagData=`documentTags` &dateFormat=`%d.%m.%Y` &sortBy=`pub_date` &dateSource=`pub_date` &id=`ditto`]]

I have read a lot of posts and documentation, but couldn’t figure that out.

What do I wrong? What would be the right approach?

As a bonus question: what Ditto version does the documentation of http://ditto.modxcms.com match? It says 2.1.0, and in Evolution 1.0.3 there is 2.1.0 installed. But, as an example, when I change dittoSnippetParameters to params, Ditto doesn’t work at all anymore..

    Edit Ok, found more mistakes:

    • I had to call Ditto uncached
    • I had to synchronize the &id between Ditto and Reflect
    • [li]
    &dittoSnippetParameters=`parents:5`
    has to be extended to
    &dittoSnippetParameters=`parents:5|dateSource:pub_date`
      [/li]

With these I have the Archive with month view and Ditto is displaying the correct content.

    Still unsolved:

    • Archive in sidebar of the News_entry pages links to themselves and not to News [5]
    • Now that I call Ditto uncached, an call of
    [!easy2?fid=`36,42,49`!]
in summary isn’t expanded anymore. [/li]

    Edit2:
    &targetIdD should have been &targetID >:(
easy2 call has to be "cached" as the syntax must alternate between [! and [[
